Refer a singer

Refer a singer

To renew and grow our singer base, we offer incentives for referrals that come from returning BCI singers and choral organization leaders.

Who can refer a singer?

The program is open to any choral singer, apprentice, or faculty member who has previously participated with BCI. It is also open to music directors and administrative leaders of non-profit choral organizations, even if they have not participated with BCI previously.

For each new-to-BCI singer that you refer, and who successfully registers, BCI will make a charitable donation of $100 to your local chorus (or non-profit choral organization of your choice). If the first-time singer you refer is age 18-45, we will raise the donation to a total of $200. (For the shorter a cappella workshop program, the total donation is a flat $50).

The person making the referral must fill out our online chorister referral form in order to be awarded a donation.

In order to qualify, the singer being referred must be a first-time in-person attendee. Upon BCI’s acceptance of their registration and after they have made full payment of tuition, BCI will send a donation check to the choral organization listed on the referral form. The organization must be a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization as recognized by U.S. tax law (or equivalent if a non-U.S. organization). Only one donation will be made per referred singer. However, an organization may receive multiple donations if multiple individuals are referred and fulfill the qualifications listed above. Most donations will be confirmed following our March 1 tuition deadline. Non-singing attendees not eligible. All donations will be paid by check in U.S. dollars. BCI reserves the right to end this promotion at any time. Referral requests must be completed no later than March 1, 2026.
