The BCI Experience is designed for singers, by singers. We’re an educational non-profit that creates fun and inspiring opportunities to expand your choral horizons. Think of us as the elevated music camp experience for adults. Pick a week you like and you’ll sing amazing repertoire with world-class conductors, sharpen your skills, and bond with new friends who love to sing as much as you do. BCI gives you the opportunity to put your love of music front and center in your life for a few days.
Our roving programs provide a chance to travel around the U.S and the world, discover local cultural treasures, and take your singing to new artistic heights in great concert halls.
“This was a transformative, inspiring experience. I feel like it changed my life. I grew as a musician and as a person! Can’t wait for my next BCI experience.” – 2022 chorister
Singing Weeks
For more than 40 years, BCI has built its reputation on giving experienced amateur singers a professional-level opportunity to sing the big choral-orchestral repertoire under the batons of some of the world’s greatest conductors. Each 7-day program is hosted at a prestigious educational institution or in a renowned cultural capital. We sing our hearts out during an intensive week leavened by sightseeing, shared meals, classes, and social time.
Workshops & Special Events
In addition to full singing weeks, we also create flexible 3, 4, and 5-day programs. With less focus on preparing for a full length choral-orchestral performance, these programs allow us to explore new repertoire and creative themes or genres. Some include a final concert; others are workshop format without a public presentation. Explore each program for specific details about housing and logistics. All of them include world class conductors and artists, lifelong learning, new friendships, and the joy of singing.
BCI’s Culture and Values
When we say your voice belongs at BCI, we mean it. We sing in an atmosphere of kindness, shared learning, and mutual respect. We’re people who are serious about making music but who also value having a good time. We ensure that BCI events are inclusive and friendly. A typical week draws singers ages 18 and up from across the U.S. and all corners of the globe. Black, Latinx, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indigenous, and LGBTQ+ singers will find a welcoming musical home here. Most of our programs are designed with the experienced amateur choral singer in mind but are generally not auditioned. Please see our eligibility page for more info about our musical guidelines and registration process.
