BCI’s Vocal Scholar Program is a free educational opportunity focusing on undergraduate or advanced degree music students who sing tenor or bass. Applicants should be enrolled in a music degree program and possess solid vocal technique and reading skills. Successful applicants will receive free tuition, room, and board, along with a reimbursed travel stipend (up to $800 per program), a free voice lesson per program, and sheet music.
Each week-long program is an intensive choral experience providing scholars with the opportunity to study and rehearse major choral-orchestral works with eminent conductors, faculty, and soloists. Musical activities include participating in two choral rehearsals per day, attending classes taught by our faculty, and receiving a complimentary private lesson.
In addition to singing in all rehearsals and concerts, Scholars may be asked to assist with other duties, such as facilitating logistics for the soloists, conductors, and orchestra and assisting choristers on registration days. BCI is committed to creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive experience for choral singers. African-American, Latinx, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indigenous, and LGBTQ+ identified students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Due date is February 1, 2026.
