Dr. Sean Taylor serves at BCI’s Director of Music. He is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where he conducts the Master Chorale and Chamber Singers. Taylor is also conductor of the Valley Symphony Orchestra Chorale in McAllen, TX, artistic director of Alium Spiritum, a vocal quartet based in Brownsville, TX and director of traditional music at First Methodist Church in Harlingen, TX. Previously he was on the faculties of Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania and Central State University in Ohio.
A specialist in professional ensemble singing, Sean has sung with Conspirare, Cincinnati’s Vocal Arts Ensemble, Charleston’s Taylor Festival Choir and The Oregon Bach Festival. He holds a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, an M.M. in Conducting from Carnegie Mellon University, where he served as Assistant Conductor to Grammy-winner Robert Page, and a B.M. in Music Education from Westminster College (PA).
