Patrick T. Waters, tenor, (B.M. Manhattan School of Music; M.S.M. Boston University) holds degrees in composition, conducting and sacred music, with additional studies in piano and vocal performance. Mr. Waters studied conducting with Dr. Ann Howard Jones, Bruce Hangen, Robert Isaacs, and Paul Brantley, and has worked in master classes with John Alexander, Jane Glover, Frank Nemhauser, and Kathy Saltzman Romey. He completed coursework pursuing the Performance Diploma in voice at Boston University, studying under James Demler. He has collaborated with Berkshire Choral International since 2006.

Mr. Waters began performing regularly with Cambridge Concentus, earning acclaim in the ensemble’s landmark performance of Haydn’s Mariazellermesse and in his critically-lauded performance of Bach’s cantata Liebster Gott, wenn werd ich sterben in 2011. He has performed with the Bermuda Chamber Choir to high praise as a soloist and has sung roles in semi-staged productions with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (A Midsummer Marriage, Tippett; Four Saints in Three Acts, V. Thomson) and Boston Baroque (L’incoronazione di Poppea, Monteverdi). He has also appeared frequently as a soloist with the Back Bay Chorale and the Harvard Summer Chorus. Mr. Waters has cultivated a career as one of Boston’s most sought-after choral artists, singing regularly with the professional choruses of Boston Baroque, Boston Lyric Opera, and the Handel + Haydn Society, including appearances with The Rolling Stones, Sweet Honey in the Rock, and the New York Philharmonic, and the Metropolitan Opera. He has been a choral scholar with Music at Boston University Marsh Chapel as a member of its staff since 2009.
