Mitchell Vines has been a faculty pianist with Berkshire Choral International since 2009. Mitchell lives in New York City where he has a varied career as music director, vocal coach and collaborative pianist. His professional associations have included New York Summer Opera Scenes, Brooklyn College, Trinity Wall Street, NY Chamber Collective, CantaLyrica Chamber Choir, Mannes School of Music, and the Vermont Music and Arts Center. Mr. Vines can be heard on the CD’s “American Music for Trumpet and Piano” on Capstone Records, vocal chamber music by North German composers on the Syrinx label, compositions by Paul Zeigler, a recital with soprano Selena Miyazaki, and a collaboration with flutist Tia Roper on Albany Records. A native of Portland, Oregon, Mr. Vines holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland State University and a Master of Music degree and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Previously music director of Bay Ridge United Methodist Church and Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Summit, NJ, Mr. Vines is the pianist and musical coordinator of Temple Israel of the City of New York
