Professional background and skills: Born in Maine, grew up in Delaware and Colorado. Graduated with a degree in French Linguistics, followed by a post-graduate year of study in France. Enjoyed a 35 year career in sales, technical services and executive leadership with IBM.
A favorite musical experience: Singing with the Bucknell University Chorale at Washington Cathedral in the District of Columbia.
Hobbies/interests: Distance Hiking, Cooking, Choral Singing
Your idea of happiness: Enjoying our beautiful world through travel in planes, trains, automobiles and on foot, having hiked the John Muir Trail in the California Sierra, the Wonderland Trail at Mount Rainier, Wainwright’s Coast to Coast in England, the West Highland Way in Scotland, Everest Track in Nepal and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage walk in Japan, and soon, The Camino Santiago in Spain.
Personal motto or guiding inspiration: Medieval anchoress, Julian of Norwich said: “All shall be well. All manner of things will be well.” Keep faith, stay positive.
An interesting or unusual fact about me that people might not know: I have never studied finance and accounting, but have been appointed treasurer in more than one organization.
Why BCI matters to me: The inspiring experience of joining people from the world over whom I have never met to prepare epic choral works and perform them with excellence in remarkable venues.
