Tallinn, home of the singing revolution, is our base for an exciting week exploring  the culture and history of the Baltics. Patrick Dupre Quigley, Artistic Director of Seraphic Fire, leads a revolutionary interpretation of the Brahms Requiem, paired with Lakes Awake at Dawn, a cinematic depiction of nature by Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds. We’ll stay at a four star hotel with Baltic Sea views, experience local singing culture, and tour medieval Old Town.

Patrick Dupre Quigley

Patrick Dupre Quigley, conductor/arranger/composer/producer, is Founder and Artistic Director of Seraphic Fire, and Artistic Director Designate of the period instrument opera company Opera Lafayette.

Quigley is known for his engaging performances of historically-informed programming that draw in new audiences and delight regular concertgoers. Tuition includes 7 nights hotel lodging based on double occupancy and most meals (1 dinner and 2 lunches are on your own), airport ground transfers on scheduled arrival and departure days, welcome reception and post-concert party, rehearsals, sectional, and classes with our professional faculty, practice audio files (sent in March), a fully produced concert with professional orchestra in an excellent venue, and a professional local concierge for our group.

Our hotel is the 4-star Radisson Blu Olumpia. Housing options including single supplements will be offered after acceptance into the program. Optional roommate matching assistance will be available.

As part of our specially negotiated group travel package, all hotel guests must be registered BCI participants as singers or non-singers. All rooms for our group must be reserved and assigned through BCI without exception. Partial stays for non-registered guests not exceeding three nights may be possible for an additional per person fee.

Catered meals will be in the hotel dining room. We work with our hotel to provide a variety of food choices at every group meal, including vegetarian options. We also do our best to accommodate gluten-free and vegan requests, but we cannot guarantee strict adherence to special food requests at non-U.S. venues.

Accessibility

This venue requires a light amount of walking for rehearsals and performance. Lodging, meals and most rehearsals are in the hotel. The performance venue is 3 blocks away. Sightseeing with coach transportation and optional tours may require a significant amount of walking and/or uneven terrain. Details for each tour will be included following acceptance.

Pre-Tour to Riga, Latvia: Participants will have the option of adding a 3-day pre-tour to Riga, Latvia (Friday – Sunday), which is not part of the choral preparation. More details will be provided upon acceptance to the program.

Travel to Tallinn is not included. Connections to Tallinn Airport are available from many European travel hubs.
